Star guide

Beyond the planets

Different kinds of stars, in calm readable blocks

After the Solar System pages, the star guide helps readers understand how stars can be small, giant, old, bright, dim, or left behind as dense remnants. The pages keep the language clear and move from easier examples to more extreme ones.

Star types become easier to compare when they are placed side by side.

Good first star pages

Start with a yellow star if you want a familiar comparison point, because the Sun belongs to that group. After that, a red dwarf shows a smaller calmer star, while a blue giant shows how powerful and short-lived a massive star can be.

Why the remnant pages matter

White dwarfs and neutron stars show that stars change over time. They help the reader see that stars are not fixed forever. Some end as small dense remnants after dramatic changes.
